THE CHRISTMAS COOKIE KILLER
A Fresh Baked Mystery
Coming October 2008
Phyllis Newsom and
Carolyn Wilbarger both send in recipes for Christmas cookies to the newspaper. This is a simple competition: area cooks
bring their cookies with the recipe to the news office and the winning cookies will be in
a special edition the week before Christmas.
While making the
cookies, it is easy to make extra for the traditional neighborhood cookie exchange. Phyllis had picked up her next door neighbors
ginger cookies earlier in the day, and as the book opens, she is delivering a platter of
assorted cookies back to her. While this is
going on, the other residents of the neighborhood are gathered at Phylliss house for
the cookie exchange.
This neighborhood
tradition ends with a killer on the loose and Phyllis determined to uncover the killer.
